And here it is, behold: the actual cake that last week was the practice for 🙂
Tis a gluten-free apricot jam cake, recipe tweaked a little from last week (and still not perfect, but better than it was) filled and iced with Italian meringue buttercream, flavoured with pistachios, mashed strawberries and rosewater.
Decorated, as per the photos, with homemade almond brittle/praline, dried apricots, strawberries, unshelled chestnuts and pistachios, tiny rosebuds and a crumbling of rose petals 🙂 Quite delish.
