Made-It Monday: Snake Cake!

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

I feel like I had something else to post here today that wasn’t cake, but I can’t remember what it was, and anyway there is Cake To Post, and who doesn’t love cake, right?

Not great photos since I only photographed it in my fridge. And also, there was something weird going on structurally where the front of the bottom tier kept collapsing, EVEN THOUGH I literally had wooden dowels in there holding up the second cake???

(I had a second of panic just now where I was like WAIT DID I PUT A BOARD UNDER THE TOP TIER I DON’T REMEMBER PUTTING A BOARD IN, but then I remembered the MICROSURGERY I conducted on the back of the cake, slitting it open and inserting another skewer which I had to bend to tuck under the cake board, so yes, I did put a board in, and I did have dowel in, and I am utterly stumped by the actual physics of how on earth the bottom of the cake could collapse like it did WITH DOWEL AND BOARD SUPPORTS.)

Ahem.

Anyway.

So. It’s a choc mud cake filled with whipped cream and stewed cherries, covered in vanilla cherry buttercream and topped with a large chocolate sail, whipped cream, gummy snakes (which also crawl up and down the sides), and fresh cherries. The brief was “black forest with gummy lollies”, so I think I nailed that one okay 😀

And now, what have you made this week? Don’t forget to tag your contribution, or even better, leave a link in the comments!! I love seeing what inspiring things other people have made 🙂 🙂 🙂
