Made-It Monday: In Which I Create A Mess, But People Love It

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something Iโ€™ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something youโ€™ve made in the last week (ish; letโ€™s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things weโ€™ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

A quick lil hack I threw together before work on Friday morning because I’d promised There Would Be Cake. The cake is so disgustingly unsound technically – I can list at least seven major problems with it just off the top of my head, not least of which being that it was cold in the house and the icing had been out all night and was therefore too stiff/cold and kept clumping instead of spreading, urgh – BUT THERE IS A LESSON HERE FOR CREATIVE PEOPLE because once I’d thrown a punnet of raspberries on it and some pansies I legit stole from the school gardens (I’d been eyeing them off for a week with this purpose in mind, bwa ha), MY AUDIENCE WAS CAPTIVATED.

Seriously. So much wrong with this cake. BUT PEOPLE LOVED IT.

–> Art does not have to be perfect, or even ‘good’ by your personal, technical standard, for people to appreciate it. And art can be completely perfect by technical standards and some people will still hate it. There’s just no accounting for taste ๐Ÿ˜‰

So basically, create what you love, and what makes you happy, and do it even when you don’t have time to do it *right*, because it’s the act of creating that matters and ever made anything perfect anyway, amirite? ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

And now, what have you made this week? Donโ€™t forget to tag your contribution, or even better, leave a link in the comments!! I love seeing what inspiring things other people have madeย ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
