Good news: we’re moving house!
After six years of “We’re buying a house, no really, any day now”, we ACTUALLY have a house, woohoo! Super looking forward to the increased yard space – for kids, chickens and gardens alike!! Plus the possibility of a dedicated work space corner for meeeee, hurrah.
Sad news, this means I had to pack up all my tea to be moved. Ha. I’ve kept out ONLY MY EMERGENCY TEA SUPPLIES please observe:
O:)
Is only the emergency supply, I promise. I have more than double that now safely packed in a moving box 😀 😀
Tell me: what’s your drink of choice? I only got into tea drinking in the last few years; before that I pretty exclusive drank water? And I still mostly drink water. For all my RIDICULOUSLY INFLATED TEA SUPPLIES, unless I’m working from home I actually only have a few cups a week. True, they are GIANT HALF-LITRE/PINT-SIZED CUPS, but only a few of them.
If you happen to be a tea drinker too, what do you recommend?

PS The teas pictured:
Left stack, top to bottom: T2 Jade Mountain (hazelnut, sweet toasty flavours on green tea base); T2 Hot Jam Brownie (raspberry leaf, chocolate flavours, raspberry flavours, bit of a toasty undertone on black tea); T2 Lamington (chocolate and berry flavours, toasted coconut flakes, black tea base).
Middle left stack, top to bottom: Black Adder Liquorice teabags (herbal, a very naturally sweet desserty tea); T2 Mangoes & Cream (not as sweet as juice but a very strong, sweet yellow-fruit tisane); T2 Sticky Date Delight (sweet caramel and fig flavours, very similar to sticky date indeed, on a rooibos/red tea base); the tin says T2 Merry Berry Meringue BUT IT IS WRONG, that tea is packed and this tin is full of T2 Jaffalicious (right what it says on the label – metaphorically? HA. Delightful orange-and-chocolate tea on a black base that I mix crushed cocoa husks through for an added chocolate boost).
Middle right stack, top to bottom: Turkish Delight, notionally from Adore Tea but I think now mixed with The Tea Centre’s blend, and also crushed cocoa husks… (rose and chocolate on a black tea base); Mountain Magic from a boutique store I can’t remember the name of (vanilla, hazelnut, blackberry and lemongrass on a black tea base); T2 Gorgeous Geisha teabags (strawberries and cream flavours, strawberry pieces, sencha green tea base).
Right stack, top to bottom: Adore Tea Mint Slice (mint leaves and chocolate flavours with added cocoa husks on black tea); Adore Tea Rooibos Chocolate Truffle (chocolate drops and flavours, caramel pieces and flavours on a red/rooibos tea base).
Black tea for me, loose leaf, preferably Assam or Ceylon. Multiple cups a day 😄
In colder months we make chai with fresh ginger and freshly ground cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, chili, black pepper, star anise. It’s the only thing we use the mortar and pestle for! Made on the stocd with black tea, plenty of sugar and milk.
Sorry for the delay in replying, we’ve moved house since you posted and oh my gosh, such chaos!! But that sounds absolutely amazing. I’m not a huge cinnamon fan, but fresh ginger? URGH, DELICIOUS. I need to try this for sure.
That’s what is so good about grinding your own mix, you get to decide on the blend.
Sooo true. Part of why I love loose leaf tea more than teabags, I think. (And not at all related to my tendency to alter almost every tea blend by the addition of cocoa husks…..)
Blah, now I want tea, but the kettle’s still packed somewhere mysterious.
