Never Interrupt Me While I’m Reading A Book, Yo

I’ve probably shared this before, but I dug it out a couple of weeks ago to show students because REASONS, and ermagersh. #ACCURATE. Unfortunately, these days I get interrupted while reading books all the time, and I’ve had to learn to read in snippets and bites, mostly.

That said, a few weeks ago I was feeling super burnt out and decided to quit homework for a couple of nights, and burned through Ilona Andrew’s Hidden Legacy series in three nights (I’d read books 1 and 2 before, but not #3, and ERMAGERSH BOOK HANGOVER SO GOOD URGH DED AAAARGGGH!!!!) and the uninterrupted reading time was GLORIOUS.

Of course, it meant staying up late and regretting the lack of sleep the following day… Although not as much as that time back in July when I decided at 10pm that I’d better be good and go to bed, only then I was going to read one more chapter in bed, only then my husband came to bed and decided after a few minutes that I needed to put the light out after all, and so then I super sensibly decided to just finish that one chapter while I waited for the shower to heat up (if I don’t shower before going to sleep it takes me forever to drift off), and then all of a sudden I’d run out of book, and was like, oh, um, oops? I guess I read for like forty-five minutes with the water running? AND THEN I DECIDED TO CHECK THE TIME, and that was a mistake, because it was like one a.m. and I’d been reading on the floor of the bathroom with the water running for over two hours……………

Oops.

Miraculously, the water was still hot? And it made a hilarious story to tell my students the next day??? O:)

*ahem*.

Yeah. Anyway. Video!

Soo…. What have you found on the internets this week? Have you ever accidentally stayed up way too late finishing a book? Did you regret it in the morning, or were you just viciously pleased to have Defeated The Bedtime and Finished The Dang Book?

Happy Friday, my lovelies <3 <3 <3
