Here it is, the book I mentioned yesterday that was randomly conceived at the writing camp I ran in July for teens! Everyone, please meet The Ice Cream Crown Skating Races! (Winning the prize for longest title ever >.<)
Every year, the town of Linderch gathers to watch the Ice Cream Crown Skating Races, a series of trick races skated on a pond of magically deep-frozen ice cream.
This year, fourteen-year-old George intends to win. If he loses, his family loses their house.
George’s biggest challenge? His year off, with no practice. Or so he thinks.
Because this year, something sinister simmers, a dangerous mystery founded on a long-running grudge that stands to jeopardise everything…
Woo hoo! I mean, what’s not to love? A pond full of MAGICALLY DEEP-FROZEN ICE CREAM? Yes, please and thank you.
Ice Cream is pitched at an upper middle grade audience, same as the Sanctuary series, so anyone aged 10+ who’s into quirky little mysteries with a side-helping of magic should enjoy it. It’s short (just over 100 pages) and fun and fast-paced, and I hope you love it (or hate it, because honestly, the worst response is MEH :D). You can read the first chapter right here.
You can preorder the ebook right now – from me or from your favourite retailer – and print preorders will be up in about two weeks.
Yay! A new book! <3 *sprinkles you liberally with environmentally-friendly confetti*
