Look, it’s not been a great previous 10 days, m’kay? Like, I’m fine, I’m just two weeks behind schedule on EVERYTHING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD and this week is also going to be a trashfire of ALL THE DEADLINES EVER.
But on the other hand, I handed in my next Aurealis article this morning (this one on fairies, I think it’ll be out in the April issue), I’ve hit a milestone on another project that I should be able to cross off shortly, and all the Fan Kit Minis from the December campaign hit the post. Yay!!! (If you want one, they’re still available here and they are very, very fun.)
So. I’m still desperately behind on All The Things (because of the three months of insomnia that only resolved in early February, so I’ve been running behind since school started back as I wasn’t as prepared coming into the year as I usually am), but at least I’m a tiny bit *less* behind.
Today, I’m totally taking that as a win.
It helps that we scheduled a beach day yesterday, which didn’t help with Achieving Goals but helped a lot with Achieving Sanity and, if nothing else, let me hang out with my family and give my sympathetic nervous system some down time. Rawr. Photo taken on the way home:
And also, one of my classes had Xavier Pick come in and do a guest lecture this morning, and he was brilliant, and it was very calming and soothing to listen to him for 45 minutes on many things, including why art is important and valuable and creating things is just about the most important thing you can do as an individual, and he was just all round intelligent and inspiring and level-headed, and here, you should watch some of his stuff:
Cool. That’s about it for today’s Totally Random Update. The only other thing I’ll mention is that the current Kickstarter campaign, for Dreaming Of Forests & Bones Of The Sea, is about halfway through and could use a lil love and attention. If you have $6AU to spare, you can even have BOTH ebooks 🙂 <3
Take care, stay safe. Love you <3
