Finally got the shop up and running again here, woohoo. Head here to see all of my available titles for purchase as ebooks or in print. Some of them are also available in Braille, and a small-but-slowly-expanding handful of them also have accompanying Fan Kits or Fan Kit Minis š Yay!
There’s also a bunch of other site admin going on today and into the next week – tidying up links, headings, images, etc etc and so forth. Hopefully this will include fixing up the resource pages so they aren’t so bare, but I’ll let you know if/when that happens.
ALSO I really want the ability to give a domestic shipping discount here like I used to, but my store functionality is tied to the Inkprint Press store and Shopify doesn’t let you do shipping discounts (you can discount products or you can do free shipping, so helpful), so IDK. The only way I can do it right now is to bring the price of Aus shipping down artificially on both sites by just charging less as a flat rate, rather than a percentage off. IDK. I’ll probably end up doing that. I’ll let you know.
For now, though, at least everything is there and available, and ebooks are definitely good to go. In face, there’s a coupon still active from the October Kickstarter campaign, so go on, treat yourself: head over to my lil shop and use the coupon REAPERKS to get 50% off any ebooks (one transaction only, no limit on number of ebooks in the transaction, valid to the end of the year AU time).
(Also, I just realised that people not familiar with the book industry might not realise why buying books directly from the author is such as great way to support them. Basically, if you buy a print copy of mine, I (as both publisher and author*) get about $1 – 2 from whatever you paid, and the rest goes to the retailer and book printer. eBooks are a bit better proportionately, I get between 30 and 70% of the sale price if you buy from your favourite store. If you buy direct from me or Inkprint Press, however, I get* about 40% of the cover price for print books and 100% of the price for ebooks.**
Libraries are another kettle of fish again, but short version, they pay at least double the usual retail price for their books and often pay every time a member checks out the book. So if you can’t afford to buy a book, YES, GO TO THE LIBRARY, LIBRARIES PAY AUTHORS AND THEY ARE VERY AMAZING. <3 )
* To keep Inkprint Press running as a business, yes, I have contracts with myself, and yes, I split this money into profit for the press (which covers running expenses, advertising, printing costs, etc) and royalties for author-me, which pays me for the time it takes to actually write/edit/rewrite the book.
** You’d like to think this would mean I could sell my ebooks cheaper on my site, but I can’t, because then all that happens is that places like Amazon price match and the price goes down everywhere. What I CAN do is offer you coupons, like REAPERKS, which will get you 50% off the retail price š š O:) š
