Portrait With The International Space Station

My sister rang me at about 5pm to let me know exciting news: the International Space Station was due to pass directly overhead at 6pm! Hurrah!

So I set a phone alarm (being notorious at keeping an eye on the time otherwise) and at 5:50pm, we duly bundled up in shoes and coats and headed out to the main road through our suburb (a huge walk of one house away, ha). Eight tense minutes followed as we scanned the western sky, and then–lo! behold!–there she was. We had a stellar (ha) view for about four minutes as the space station traversed the sky, and I even managed to snap a pic of the kids with it:

The “star” is obviously the space station 😉

The sunset immediately before was quite pretty too:

What’s been ‘up’ in your neck of the woods? O:)

(I make no apologies for the punning. HA.)
