Made-It Monday: Quick Horsey Digital Sketch

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

Yay! We are back in the swing of things with the first Made-It Monday of the year!

I *have* been making things in Jan/Feb, of course; they just weren’t particularly photographable or shareable. No one wants to see a spreadsheet as a Made-It Monday, for example, no matter how beautiful it is 😀

But! Today! An *actual* made-it thing!

I mentioned on Friday that life is slowly enabling my desire to learn digital painting. Before I watched all those tutorials last week and got simultaneously inspired and overwhelmed (and remembered that I really, REALLY should finish proofing A Fox Of Storms And Starlight, since it’s now up for preorder and all…), I did a quick sketch just to get a feel for the stylus on the tablet. It’s just a warm-up kind of thing as I was messing around and getting a feel for drawing with layers and how opacity could be helpful and all those kinds of things, but I think it’s pretty solid for my first ever attempt at digital painting 😉

(Oh, actually, that’s not true: I used to attempt to paint in Microsoft Paint back in high school. I’ll have to see if I still have some of them saved on the old harddrive somewhere 😀 )

Anyway. Behold: a cranky horse 😀

And now, what have you made this week? Don’t forget to tag your contribution, or even better, leave a link in the comments!! I love seeing what inspiring things other people have made 🙂 🙂 🙂
