*deep, contented sigh* Deadlines are over for the year, my health is steadily improving, sleep is actually a thing, and I had a whole weekend with *no homework*. I had a few of those in September, but that’s because I was ignoring the homework, not because there was nothing that needed doing 😉
I mean, like, I actually sat down and watched a movie with my husband on Saturday night. I took the kids Christmas & clothes shopping on Sunday morning. I slept in on Saturday. (Okay, that’s actually normal!)
I wrote so many words!
Like, not objectively a huge amount, not compared to what I’ve done before in the past, but still, given the year I’ve had, I’m super happy. Even when I’m getting minority stuck in the story now, I’m stuck for maybe a day or two, rather than having the whole concept of writing grinding to a halt.
So, now that How To Create Life is out, my schedule is a bit up in the air. I’m working on #FoxBook again, and it will be the next release. I’m tentatively hoping that it will be out at the end of March, but that will depend on a) me finishing this draft by the end of the year and b) there being nothing majorly wrong with this draft this time :’D This is the second draft, and I’m fixing a bunch of major structural issues and characterisation things, and feedback has been positive so far, so… fingers crossed, right?
As of writing this, halfway through Sunday, I’m at 42k of finished words, with 65k of words total, and a projected final total of about 82k. I’m over halfway, you guys! Over! Half! Way!
After #FoxBook, I’ll get stuck into the second Mercury book, and that will be out sometime toward the end of next year. To tide you over between Big Books, there should be a novella (similar length to Dreaming of Forests) in the middle of the year too 🙂
Plus, of course, there are the Inklets, which are already out on ebook preorder for the first half of next year! Inket #29, which comes out on March 1, is the first story I ever ‘sold’, and Inklet #35 (1 June) ties in to #FoxBook, wootwoo. There’s also a Kaditeos story, but not until November 1 😉
So there we have it. Writing progress. #FoxBook has an official title and cover now, too, and I’m suuuuuper excited to share it with you. But I think I’m going to save that as a celebration for when this draft is finished 😉
Hope you’re having a lovely week – hump day in Amy land now, and we are on the downhill slide toward Christmas holidays. I get nearly seven weeks off this year, and I am SO excited <3 <3
