This is literally how I do maths. I tried explaining it to my Year 5 or 6 teacher (I forget which but I think it was Year 6) and he nearly died at me.
What’s 26 – 18?
Well, you need 2 more to get from 18 to 20, and 2 + 6 is 8, so… 8!
Him: *ded*
(Also I had the same maths teacher for Year 7, 8 and 9 by coincidence. My Year 7 report read s/thing like, Amy is a delight to teach. Year 8 report? S/thing like, Amy is a diligent, wonderful student. Year 9? I quote: “Amy is a disruption in class.”
Why, you ask? Because the other students all started coming to me for help before going to the teacher, to the point where I often had a queue at my desk waiting for me :’D Oops.
I mean, as a teacher I can see why the teacher’s ego would have been bruised, but dude: maybe, like, do your job better?? #sorrynotsorry #exceptmaybealittle #becauseIdontlikemakingpeoplefeelbad #Ididntmeanit #oops)
