So I had the fun experience the other day of going in for a routine check of my thyroid (which was irradiated back in 2014, woot radioactive girl!*) and getting the results, which were, essentially, “Hey, your thyroid’s GREAT but LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE IS BROKEEEEENNNNN”. *eyeroll*.
* So after the radiation therapy, I had to stay at least a meter away from everyone for like 4-7 days (I forget exactly) and afterwards wash all my sheets and clothing really meticulously. While I was in the radioactive stage, I had to go to an intro session for a new job, and the ice breaker activity was to name your favourite superhero. I feel like I really missed an opportunity there to be like, ME! I’M MY FAVOURITE RADIOACTIVE SUPERHERO, WOO!! :’D :’D
Anyway, the gluten thing is still inconclusive as to whether it’s celiac or not (I’m trending not based on past evidence + the pathologist’s report?) and I need to work on getting my blood sugars down and my iron + vitamin D up. Like, way up.
Also, the mad cough I’ve had the last nearly two weeks which, when emitted in the echoey environs of the staff bathroom, sounds like a subsonic boom? Yeah, apparently it’s asthma, and apparently I’m back for round six billionty three of “Does Amy actually have asthma or not: A question with no defined answer, told in six billionty parts!” Oy. Probably vey, too.
All of which means, though, that my current brain fog and fatigue etc etc can all be traced down to one very simple diagnosis: I’m oxygen deficient :’D
Asthma + anemia + shortness of breath from the gluten = low, low oxygen efficiency. No wonder I’m tired and writing is impossible??????
Anyway. Asthma meds will kick in in a week or two, iron will start kicking in in another 2-3 weeks, marking will be over in two weeks (and then I get a two month break from it), and tomorrow I’ll see the doctor re: what to do about the gluten, and can possibly be off that again by the weekend, fingers crossed. 2-3 weeks for related symptoms to resolve, and it looks like by mid-June, I might be back to some form of functionality. That will be very nice indeed 🙂
In the meantime, patience, persistence, and as much sleep as I can manage 🙂
Loves!
