I was digging through the archives again earlier this week and came across this old meme. You have to turn to page 7 of your current work in progress (WIP), count down seven sentences, and then post the next seven sentences.
It’s the last week of classes in the Australian school year (at least at my school, some schools have another two weeks, which, death, destruction, agony) and this is about the level of brain I have left. So: woohoo! Meme time!
…As I type this, I’m sitting in the school library with Year 7s who are supposed to be reading, and somewhat ironically, a pair of them are playing a similar game. “Turn to page 36. The fifteenth word describes your love life.” Honestly, I’m half tempted to get them to write their instructions down and use them as the meme. Ha.
Anyway, here’s the 7/7/7 meme.
Current WIP, a series of short stories that look like they will be at least as long as a short novel when they’re done, about the two main characters and their slow, slow journey toward falling in love. This is the second short story; it’s early days for them yet.
He exhaled again and shook his head. “Look, Adela.”
Adrenalin rose its head and looked around in her stomach; she didn’t remember him ever using her first name before. Had he called her Adela when he’d rescued her? She couldn’t remember, but either way, it had been five and a half years of Gibson-this and Gibson-that. To hear him call her ‘Adela’ now was like a punch to the gut.
Adela pressed her face into her knees.
And this one is book 2 of the Kaditeos: Mercury series, How Not To Ring The Hero’s Bell.
Power built around Deviran; she could feel it surging.
“I could make you stay, you know,” he said quietly, searching her face, left, right, left.
Mercury sniffed. “You wish.”
The power circled around her aura, and she threw her chin up, glaring at him, daring him to try. Go on, she thought. Give me the excuse to blow your face off.
And finally, my current proof-reading work-in-progress, How To Create Cultures! This one is probably less exciting out of context :’D
As well as these terrestrial biomes, we’re also going to look at the following aquatic biomes:
- Ponds and lakes
- Rivers and streams
- Wetlands
- Estuaries
- Oceans
- Coral reefs
Somewhat obviously, the aquatic biomes have more to do with the amount and type of water available than with climate or weather patterns. You can also have these aquatic biomes located inside any of the terrestrial or climate-based biomes, with the exception of coral reefs, which are sensitive to temperature. To give you a starting point in visualising this information, here’s a map of the key biomes as we find them on Earth.
So there you have it! 7/7/7. Feel free to tag in and play for yourself 😀
Happy Thursday!
