Made-It Monday: How To Create Cultures Interior! :)

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome! πŸ™‚

Have not done anything involving actual making this week – too busy catching up on being away. I’ve made lots of decisions; I’ve made organisational systems; I’ve made super exciting plans. But nothing material that I can post as a made-it Monday.

So. You saw this sketch recently, but here it is formatted and pretty, arranged into place in How To Create Cultures πŸ™‚ (Except I think this is before I edited the scale to be properly vertical :’D)

I am so, so excited for this book. As the first part of From The Ground Up to release, this is the beginning of the end of a long, long journey, and I’m so, so thrilled to finally be able to share all my research with you. As far as I know, no other worldbuilding book has done this kind of research, going into detail about how climate and geography affects the foods, systems of economics, family dynamics, and even art and leisure styles that are likely to develop. (Did you know ball games are more likely to evolve in temperate climates? And that sculpture is one of the most common forms of art in tundra climates?)

Did I mention I’m so excited?

If you want to check out more, you can read the blurb and first chapter here – there are links to preorder as well. It comes out January 17. Hurrah! :3

What have you made this week? (It doesn’t have to be fancy!!) Don’t forget to tag your contribution, or even better, leave a link in the comments!! I love seeing what inspiring things other people have made πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
