A few of you have been asking lately about what the deal is with my non-fiction book, From The Ground Up, which looks at the relationship between geography, climate and culture. Well. I have News, which I am now able to share.
The short version is that I have amicably parted ways with my publisher, and FGU will now be released under Inkprint Press, hopefully in 2019. However, to do that…. I kinda need some help :\
The book has been through a couple of rounds of edits, but it’s still in need of a good fact-check – especially since the most recent version was written in 2014 and some parts are likely (read: definitely) now out of date. Which is where the help comes in.
If you, or anyone you know, are relatively expert in:
- Astronomy
- Geology (including plate tectonics and mountain formation)
- Population geography
- Oil formation
- Plant/animal biology
- Weather/climate
- Biomes
- The demographic transition
- Biodiversity (esp. issues we may face in the future)
- Or the technological singularity & future issues we may face in technology and AI
…and would be willing to fact check chunks of the book for me (between 500 and 2000 words, depending on the chunk), could you let me know at all??
I have zero budget for this, and I feel really bad that I’m essentially asking for scientific expertise for freebies, but I think I’m out of options.* What I CAN offer you is your name in the acknowledgements, and a free print copy of the final book (with postage globally).
* If you can think of any other options, please share away!! 🙂
If you or someone you know can help in anyway (even just by sharing this post), I will be eternally in your debt :3 <3 <3 <3
